HK Frustrations

As I have mentioned in other threads I blew out the drivers side woofer on my 03 MCs with the HK system. I have already had to change the passenger side. These are becoming almost imposable to find used. I was going to get a set of components and just use the woofer from the set to replace the blown one. I don't really want to spend that much money at the moment because I am thinking about gutting the system in favor of an after-market setup.

BUT for the time being...I was thinking about ordering a few of these to try out http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-SAS-Bazook...78827417929585 Does anyone have any experience with them or have an opinion as to if they think it would be a sufficient replacement.

ALL input is welcome.

Those may be a bit underpowered compared to the stock speakers. However if they're an in-between speaker I can't see why they wouldn't work. The 2ohm spec is the important part.

I did go ahead and ordered a set. I figured for 18.50 for two I couldn't go too wrong. Especially seeings the oem ones are 100.00 each. They are out for delivery now so as soon as I can figure out how I'm going to mount them up I'll let you know how they turn out.

Any luck on this yet? I think my wife's car has a torn speaker and I'm looking to replace it.

They ended up being too deep and i found another set of OEM's. Hit these guys up http://stores.ebay.com/lkqonline They sell MINI parts and have some HK stuff listed. They have a FULL speaker set listed but you might be able to talk them into splitting them up. It never hurts to ask.

Is it your front speaker thats bad?

Yep, it's the driver's door speaker.
