Are tweeter openings standard?

Forgive me, if I am asking a question that is covered elsewhere. I've spent most of the evening searching for the answer.

The base question is how can I tell which audio system is in my Mini? I can easily locate 6 speakers. There is, what appears to be, and amp on the driver side of the boot. (behind an access panel). I thought I had tweeters in the frame above the dash. However, I do not notice audio coming from them. I wonder if they are placeholders of sorts. I do not see anything other than 6x9 speakers in the rear.

Do I have the Hi-Fi or stock system?
Thank you in advance

if it looks like this no tweets up front

if it looks like this you have the stock 3-way front... I think that will be the HIFI even though the deck might say boost on it. Note: this pic is of the HK system from 2010 and up i think.

The front 3-way doesn't come standard. I've test driven 3 MCS within the past week and 2of3 had the Hi-Fi.

Okay, I definitely have tweeters in the A-pillars. This makes me pretty sure I have the Hi-Fi system. Except, I don't see any tweeters in the rear that I have seen listed as part of the 10-Speaker system.

I think it's time to save some money for the Integral Audio Sub. I'd love to get the whole sound stage, but I stretched my budget buying my Mini. $2500 for an audio upgrade doesn't sound like a good idea.

Do you have any pictures of the rear speakers in the 10-speaker setup?

The rear speakers in the 10-speaker setup are coaxial (single unit with two physical speakers, e.g. tweeter mounted in a bracket in front of the woofer cone).

+1

And if you dont have any sound coming from the Tweeters in the A-Pillars then they have probably blown out or been disconnected.

A few more questions about your car. These will realy make it much easier to help you out in the future. you may even want to put them in your signature here as it will be a help to all of us when we try to help you. See my signature or many of the others around to see what type of info we put in them.

Year?
Model?
Options? (if known)

also depending on the year of your car it could be either the HiFi or the HK systems. Both have three way speakers up front.
