For anyone wondering about rear speakers
I've been very happy with the system in my car for a few years. When I installed it, I read numerous opinions that the rear speakers are basically useless and not worth upgrading. Well, this week I finally got around to fixing a crackle I thought was coming from the RR speaker. Swapped out the stockers for a set of Polk 6.5 coaxials. Swapped out my amp for a 5ch Alpine unit so I could power the rears along with the rest of the system.
All I can say is wow! The rear speakers do add a good bit to the soundstage and depth of the music. Certainly louder. The amp is probably a little better than what I had in there, and maybe amping the stock units would have sounded good too, but either way, I am definitely impressed.
So to everyone who says the rears don't matter, I say NAY!
