2010 R55 iPhone 4 Problem
I have a 2010 Clubman with a Y cable connecting to my iPhone 4 ios5.
It worked for over a yer until today when it stopped playing properly. It started by not recognizing where the iPhone's music was last at and starting on the first song. it will play (from the start) for 2 or 3 songs and then stop. I am no longer getting a song title display (non-NAV) and my shuffle doesn't work. The steering wheel controls only seem to work while the music is playing but after it stops its as if the computer is freezing.
I cannot switch to radio and back after it 'stops' but I am able to unhook the Y cable and replace but i does the same thing. It did start playing after fiddling but when I stopped and started it was back to the same thing. I also noticed the warning beep (lights, etc.) stayed on long after i shut off the car for the first time.
I should mention that I only recently upgraded my iPhone to ios5.
Please help!

First starting point is to disconnect the battery for more than 30 minutes.
People will tell you to just disconnect it and then press the brake pedal but that does not drain the power from the head unit computer. Let the battery stay disconnected for more than 30 minutes and see if that resets all the problems.
If it does let us know.
If it does not let us know and we can help trouble shoot farther.

I've been hearing alot about this issue lately. Is your Clubbie still under warranty? I just had MINI warranty the ipod/iphone Y adapter cable in mine because it was not working all the time. So if you are still underwarranty I would be giving the service department a call. But if disconnecting the battery works please let us all know.
