i so wish a definitive solution could be figured out. I too have this problem and have basically rendered the factory bluetooth useless. which for me is a big problem!! If there is no solution to the factory unit, I need to either find an aftermarket that works and if easy to use, charge, install, etc. or I need to make a change. I spend too much time in my car that I need to have safe use of a cell phone for me to accept these problems in my Clubman. it's a shame that Mini is not realizing that this is a major problem for owners and with quickly adopted laws in various states, it's going to be a requirement for drivers very soon to make this issue a "no buy" decision for Mini's.

I hope someone figures out a solution soon. I will share if I do of course.

Jim
