New components, need advice on amp and rear speakers.

Hey guys,

Finally getting around to changing out my audio. I have been running an iDA-x100 for a while now and like it. Also, just purchased a set of Rainbow SLC 265.25 ng from a friend.

I am getting stumped on amp recommendations and replacements for the rear 6x9.

I have been eying a sax-100.4d. I am having lots of trouble finding good recommendations for a high quality amp that wont cost me an arm and a leg. Everyone keep telling me to go with a Tru, but I just cannot justify spending that much for an amp. Are kicker amps really as bad as they say, because i can get a pretty sweet deal on them (ix500.4 for only $135).

Then comes to confounding area of 6x9. I want a set that pairs well with the rainbows, but honestly dont want to shell out a lot since they are mostly just fill. The comparative rainbows are about $230, and i think that is a lot just for fill. I'm looking for a set that puts out good bass, because I don't like bass heavy audio and don't personally feel the need to invest in a sub. Although reviews do not speak highly of the sound quality, though they are suposed to do descent bass, how does everyone feel about the KS series from Kicker 6x9 3 ways? At $54 they seem enticing, but am afraid they will sound even worse next to the rainbows.

Polk MM's?

I went with Polk Audio MM Series components up front & sub in the boot.... they are well priced, sound good & fit nicely. MM's should fit well in the rear locations and they're very efficient. I didn't hook up the rear...... and don't miss'em....

If you have a sub woofer in the boot like cabalabadaingdong described then 6x9's arent really needed. I have these for 6x9's https://www.woofersetc.com/p-8451-cl...ubwoofers.aspx

Do you want an amp just for your front components or for all around? Here's a good amp since you have an alpine HU http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500KTP4...ck.html?tp=115

Don't do the 6x9's..... If you are going to do a sub in the boot, you will not notice them, trust me. It's not worth the investment unless you are going with a 6x9 sub.
