Select contact groups for iPhone over Bluetooth?

Hello all,

Did a bit of searching and didn't find anything...

So I have an iPhone 4 with a huge address book - about 600 entries. I don't need access to most of them on the HU; is there any way to select just one group to come up on the phone menu?

Not sure about how the iPhone works but on my old Motorola (non smart phone) in the blue tooth area it asks be what contacts groups to sync. On my droid it sync all Phone Contacts and I am not happy about that as i only really want it to sync say the Family Group and Friends Group but not the Work Group. For devices that are supposed to be so smart they are sometimes really behind the times on some things.

Here is something I found in another section of the forums here and maybe this will help you out.

For iPhone users, there is potentially a simpler solution. Assuming you already have a list of Favorites, on your phone go to Settings> General> Bluetooth> and then tap on the Blue arrow next to your MINI that's paired to the phone. You will then get a menu of options regarding which groups of phone numbers you want synced (Phone Favorites, Phone Recents, Other Groups). To speed up the syncing of only your frequently used phone numbers, just turn on Favorites and Phone Recents, but don't include Other Groups. If you want to include a larger universe of contacts for syncing, you could create a new group in your address book of your more important contacts (e.g. name it MINI or Car) and include that group in the bluetooth sync menu.

Cool, thanks for finding that for me - it did exactly what I wanted! I'll probably make up a special group for just in the car.
