Possible to use iPod input as Auxiliary in?

Hi All,

Just bought an MCS Convertible and it has the iPod connector in the glove box. I have to buy new tires so I am low on funds and was trying to find a way to get an Auxiliary input on the cheap. Is there an adapter or a way to use that iPod cable to be able to have Auxiliary input somehow?

Thanks!

$40 - http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...pod_mp3_hookup

Installation is easy as easy as removing one T15 Torx screw if you have little hands (or know someone who does.) A little more complicated if not as you'd have to remove more of your center stack.

Thanks, Jeremy. I searched and did find that solution, I just thought perhaps there was a simple adapter to convert the iPod cable to auxiliary

Not sure how I would select that as a source. When I click through the sources without the iPod hooked up, it says "No Magazine; No Disc." With the iPod hooked up, it has a music track # where it would say "No Magazine" but still says "No Disc." I'm wondering if it would detect music without an actual iPod hooked up or not. Any experience with this?

BTW - Using the keywords from that page of the product you found I found two more:
CableJive: SoundDock Input Cable
CableJive: Universal Dock Converter

The stereo displays "No Magazine" -- which is what it says when nothing is connected. I notified the vendor of the problem and he very promptly replied and offered a full refund."

If you are handy with electrical connections, you can make your own aux-in for a few dollars: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...input-diy.html
