Craven Speed GPS mount and wide screen GPS

Hi all,
Still waiting for my MINI to be delivered (2 weeks?), and was looking into mounting solutions for my Garmin 1490LMT (I got the EcoRoute HD dongle too )

Anyways, after looking at several solutions (Kuda, pro-fit, etc), I've settled on the Craven Speed due to its location and ease of install.

However, I do have a concern around the visiblity of my widescreen GPS (5 inch screen).

Does anyone have some pics of a wide-screen GPS with this mount?

Here's the one I'm looking at:

Take a look in my gallery for that exact setup. I let Craven know it was wide screen and they included the longer arm. I couldn't use the thumb screw because it couldn't be tightened to where it wouldn't slip, but the allen bolt has stayed in just fine. It bounces a little more than I'd like, but overall I'm very happy--especially with the dongle reading water temp, boost, intake temp, etc.

I have the Craven mount and a Garmin 1450, no problem with visibility. I did use a little threadlock on the arm screw and ball attachment to stop them coming loose when swiveling the device around. I agree on the bouncing around, mine does it too but it's not that bad. I wish I'd got a Garmin that was compatible with EcoRoute...but the 1450 doesn't have Bluetooth.

Looks nice!

Did you hardwire it in? If so, did you use the included wires, or do your own setup?
