Don't know if you tried this already, but if you're using the Aux input and it's set to aux, you can adjust the Aux volume by pressing the 4th radio pre-set button (from the left). Once you press that button, you can then adjust the volume - if I remember right you don't use the volume ****, you use the bigger **** in the center. Mine was set from the factory at "1".
