If things work out I'll be putting my order for a Cooper S later this year. I understand Blitzsafe works with Alpine but is there something similar that works with a Sony changer?

Soundgate makes an product that sounds like what you are looking for. I have a Sony changer hooked up to my stock HU. I am not using one of their officially supported changers. It works pretty well. The only issue I have is that when I change discs using the number buttons, it sometimes decides to pick another instead. This is remedied by pushing the button again. I suspect that this wouldn't be a problem if I used one of the officially supported changers. BTW, the changer's MP3 support works too.

 

I just checked out Soundgate's website and they do have a Sony adapter. But it says it won't work with Sony's MiniDisc changer :evil:
