A truly great Garmin GPS mounting bracket

I just got a mounting bracket from a company called GMG for my R56 JCW to mount my Garmin GPS. It puts it on the left side right in the dead space next to the steering wheel. It was so easy to install I could not believe it. It is very sturdy and well made and looks like the GPS came on my car from the Mini Factory. It was $42.30 which included the shipping.

Go to :: www.gominigo.com for their web-site.

The bracket mounts using the two Tach hold down screws. They provide longer screws for you. I adjusted it all the way out because I'm probably get a Garmin 3760 5 inch gps in the future. I'm using my trusty old 350 for now.

That is nice, it's exactly where my OEM one fits and it's very convenient.

How do you run power to the GPS?

The old fashioned way !!!!

I just plugged it into my cigarette lighter socket.

I have a carpet matt on top of my dash (Don't want my dog to scratch the dash) so I just ran the wire under the carpet matt.

I would love to hard wire it under the steering wheel cover like the factory one does but don't know how.

I love my bracket as well.
You may want to add Sirius to the right side as well for a really nice setup.

Here's my writeup on how I created and installed mine:

Wow !!! Great instructions

Hey Oaklandmini, That is a truly great instruction information on installing a Sirus radio. It will also help with the hardwiring of the GPS.

The Mounting bracket I have can be used on the right or left side and could also be used for a Sirus/XM radio. It can be purchased with a curved bracket or a straight bracket. I guess the vendor would have better information on the curved bracket.

Your post should be made permanent and like I said, __"Great writeup""
