Y-Cable AUX split / RCA Input MCS 2010 HK Audio

Can I use a splitter for the Y-Cable to the AUX audio so I can run both my iPhone and XM Radio without having to swap? Obviously not at the same time.

Anyone had success with this? Also is there an additional AUX in the head unit you could connect an XM to say Mini-Headphone to RCA? This is on the MCS 2010 HK Audio no Nav

The problem with splitting the axillary input along with the Y cable is that when the Y-Cable is plugged in, it (on the head unit) turns your auxiliary into ipod. You know what I mean? It displays aux normally but changes to ipod once data is coming over the USB. You could split the auxilary input using something like this:

Run your satellite into it and also half the Y-cabe (for ipod). Then when you are not using one or the other, you will need to turn it off. When using the ipod, turn off satellite radio (on unit). This prevents mixed signals. When you are using satellite, you will need to turn off iphone (or unplug it). Either way, you have to stop data from being sent over that USB, so on the headunit, it shows up as auxiliary.

I know this is not the best solution but it is a little better than swapping the y cable input and the satellite input by hand on demand.

Good luck. I will follow your progress and see if you find a better solution.

I thought about doing that, but then decided that I no longer need to even hook up my iPhone for music. I went out and bought a 16gb USB flash drive. I loaded it with music and now have my Sirius plugged into the the aux jack and the USB stick plugged into the USB port. Works like a charm

Right on. I have been thinking about that recently too. I am going to do the same.
