Don't see a picture!

And are you asking if you are going to get reception in the middle of nowhere? Or are you just making a statement?

Whoops, sorry, hope this is better. Just thinking if I was far from civilization (north pole, gobi desert) might not hear much.

Since I hardly ever listen to my radio I really want the MINI Challenge antenna delete. It looks awesome. Yours is very creative, I would have never thought to do something like that.

Just paint it with a touch up pen! It won't pull in weak signals as well as a longer antenna, but whether it makes a difference in your actual experience will depend on the circumstances.

I thought I did but, I do not and can't find any. Basically it is a flat piece of carbon fiber that covers where the antenna base would be, so in essence it is completely flat.
You can see it kinda of here

This one has it completely flat

Once one gets wrecked maybe we'll see the roof go up on ebay, antenna delete mod... solved with ease

BTW, cool idea. I think I'll stop by Lowes and pick up a 6mm screw and test it on my drive to Rhode Island from Brooklyn, NY this week. A few states of varying reception... will post the results.

Not sure how you can say that unless the person looking at the car is blind. It is now missing la foot and a half of antenna.

The change when I put my shorty antenna on was huge in the looks department. No more R/C look. You don't have to be so negative.

Ya no on the R/C look. I wish there was somewhere else where the antenna was like some other cars that have it in the windshield

This is one of those, "Why didn't I think of that", moments. I have ordered one of the short antennas but I am headed for the Hardware in 5 minutes. I live in Dallas and there is a lot of radio in Dallas plus I am going to run my XM through the FM modulator. This is just the ticket for me, plus my Car Cover will be easier to install.
Thank you so much for this post!

I would actually like one a full 31 and 1/2 inches long for FM reception. Physics works that way. Any shorter antenna will have less gain. Maybe 28, I listen to the bottom end of the dial more. FUNCTION, then form.

At first I laughed cause I knew it was just a screw. Then I thought what a brilliant idea that is.

I'm still debating if I want to keep the long antenna or get a shorty. The long one give it that fun looking character, I think. I actually might try that on my route home.

My 2010 Clubman DOES have the antenna in a window. Rear driver's side. Those wires on the glass, which are not on the other side, are a FM loop antenna. The mast on the roof is for AM only.

The 6mm screw delete will not affect FM reception, but the AM will cease to exist.

Hi Grendl, I'm sorry but AM reception works fine for me, FM as well. As I stated earlier, reception may be spotty when you are in the middle of the Amazon, but thats how radios work. I realize antennas work better when you have one but I chose to forgo mine. When I loose reception, I listen to Artie Shaw or John Lee Hooker. Good luck.
