Activating Pandora while phone charges!

So I can finally impart some useful knowledge to these forums!!

A while ago we had several people say that they could only listen to the iPod while their iPhone was plugged into the USB port and the Aux port. I can't find the thread but please feel free to merge them if someone else can!

All you need to do to charge and listen to your apps is plug in your phone and wait for it to activate in the system then select it in the audio menu and start listening to the iPod.

As soon as the iPod starts playing you can use the PHONE to navigate to the app that you want to listen to (pandora, wunder radio, whichever) and start it playing. As soon as you start the app playing the iPod will fade out and the app will come through the car speakers, AND the phone will stay charging (kind of...)!

With the iPhone 3G the phone doesn't really charge when you're streaming because the battery useage is to high (mine barely charges when it's not on) but you can listen to the radio while driving!!!!

This discovery made me very happy! I hope it helps some of the other people who are having trouble with it. The only PITA is that if someone calls you have to go through the whole process again to get it playing again since it will default back to the iPod.

Yea - OS4 is to much for my 3G to handle as well. It runs SOOOOO SLOWLY it drives me crazy. Even my email won't pull up quickly...

I tried going back to OS 3 but I can't find the firmware for it. Half the fancy stuff that OS4 does you cant do on a 3G because it's not powerful enough...
