Bluetooth question
Hi Everyone,
I am a new Mini owner, I just got a black 07 Cooper S. It has the buttons on the steering wheel for setting up bluetooth but I do not have the phone icon as an option on the menu. I would really like to be able to use the bluetooth option but I am a little confused about what my options are. Do I have to go to a dealership to have something installed or can I purchase a kit on newministuff.com and do it myself? Is it worth the time and $ or am I just better off getting a regular old bluetooth for my phone? It would be really nice to actually be able to use those buttons on the steering wheel but how feasible is it really? Thanks for any advice

The car may not have bluetooh installed.
Press the "MENU" button on the stereo and if the word "PHONE" shows up on the screen then you have OEM Bluetooth. If it does not show up then you do not have bluetooth.
Multi Function Steering wheels have all the buttons even if some of the options are not installed. Ease of parts on the manufacturers part.
If you have bluetooth installed then the press the PHONE button and it will ask you to pari your phone. Each phone has slightly different pairing procedure so check you phones manual and pair the phone.
If you do not have bluetooth then there is a kit from newministuff that will hook up to the car and you will be able to use the steering wheel controls or you could go OEM but the OEM option is going to be $1K plus probably.
this would be teh best kit from newministuff http://www.newministuff.com/new/shop...uctshow&id=712
but you may be able to find one here in the states for less money. It is actually just a Parrot system. I believe they are available thru Amazon or other online retailers.

Thanks for the reply! So if I find a parrot 9200 unit on amazon, and then buy the appropriate harness to install it, it should work with my mfsw? What about directions, would I be able to find install help here on the boards? Thanks for the help
