Radio static sound

I have an 05 R50 and recently have noticed a low static sound when listening to the radio, stations that I always listen to never had this static sound, now does. One observation is at idle the static sound is low, when I depress the throttle and the engine RPM's increase the static sound increases and decreases with the engine RPM's. This is not a case of poor reception. Does anyone know what is causing this and how do I repair it?

I have the stock radio and speaker setup, I have not modified or tinkered with any wiring in the car.

Thanks,
Mark

Sounds like you have a bad ground in the stereo system. Even though you haven't changed the stereo from stock, these things can happen. My whole driver's side speakers had a short in them. When I upgraded and pulled all the stock components out, I noticed loose wiring in the OEM harness. I fixed this and it's sounded like new ever since. It's worth a shot for you to check the grounds in the stereo system.

If you look at the OEM harness, the wires are not installed the greatest. They are pushed into the connector and no solder is used. Over time, they can work their way out a little and cause bad connections.

OMG - I have the same issue - exactly! Static sound that increases when I step on the throttle/increase RPMs ...Did you try what "fatherdeth" recommended yet, did it solve the problem?
