Amp turn on in X15

I have a 2008 R56 S with the Hi-Fi system. Replaced the front speakers already. Planning to install a PDX-F4 under the passenger seat and use it to power the front speakers. Will leave the rears stock and connected to the factory amp for now.

I would like to use the factory amp turn on line to switch the PDX rather than signal sensing or the 12V lighter socket. If I use the 12V outlet, I'm won't get the alarm gong when the car is off.

1 - Does the signal go to 12V and source enough current? I read in another post that the factory amp only needs 8V. I imagine the PDX doesn't need the full 12V either, but is 8V enough? Will I need to wire in some sort of relay or transistor switch?

2 - I briefly pried off the cover and looked at the X9331/X15 connectors. I think Robin mentioned that the X15 looks pretty tight, and I agree. Is there only one black wire going into that connector? Is it easy to get to?

3 - Is there anything I'm not thinking of or am wrong about?

Thanks to all those that blazed this trail...
