I brought my MINI in on Thursday to have the infamous boot rattle taken care of. When I was driving home I had talk radio on fairly low so I could listen to make sure the rattle was gone. Then I heard it! It sounds like my driver side tweeter is blown. It is cracking and popping with no effort at all. Low volume, high volume, rock, pop, classical, talk ... you name it, it all sounds like poop now. Is blowing this tweeter easily possible? My MINI is a little over a month old. With the H/K system it seems impossible to get the system loud enough to do any damage. So I offer you, the experts, an official WTF?? This sound is HORRIBLE!!

I've never blow the tweeter before. But if it was just after the dealership had it, it may very well have happened at the dealership. See if they'll replace it under warrantee.
