Oh no...Ipod interface questions/opinions?

Will be installed in '06 MC with stock radio and H/K speakers.

The reason I am choosing to go with the Ipod Adapter Interface instead of the AUX option is that the interface option will be the most similar to my old 6-disc CD changer I had in my old car. Also I will be able to use the MFSW controls and not have to fumble around with the Ipod (dangerous).

I consider myself a DIY-er and I found these installation instructions. http://www.minimania.com/pdfile/NMI4...Gen3_INSTR.pdf Is this the correct document?

If I install it myself will I need to get the dealer to "update the ECU"? Cost?

Can I keep the Ipod plugged in at all times (weather dependent obviously)?

Is this Interface really that finicky? I have heard mixed reviews

If I do not care about displaying the artist info is the DICE unit still better?

Thanks in advance.
