ipod and MSFW.

I've got solid info for the ipod (Alpine KCE-422i) and MSFW (PAC SWI-JACK) interfaces....

Got my stuff at Al and Eds. Gonna hold off for now the SWI-JACK since the 9887 has a remote with enough functions.

My install is almost complete.
For the head Unit I went with a Kenwood model KDC-X993. The HU came with Parrot Blue Tooh built in and it works very well. I really like this head unit so far. there are alot of different sound settings and controls, both easy to use presets and for the person who likes to tune to more exacting measurements, there are alot of adjustable settings as well.
THe Rear 6X9's are Infinity Kappas and the front speakers are Boston Acoustic SC-50 components. The speakers sound great, but I may be changing out the kappas for a set of JL audios that I think may give me some better mid range sound.
I decided to go with a Boston Acoustic 5 channel Amp model GTA 1005. The amp is on the large side so finding a place to install it was a little difficult. I ended up having it installed accross the rear seats since it was too long to install verticaly on one seat or under the driver or passenger seat. I have it wired using 4 channels at 50W per channel. The 5th channel will power a single Subwoofer that I have yet to acquire at 200W.
The head unit is really good looking. You can program it to something like 9 different colors. THere is an orange Amber color that nearly exactly matches the orange lighting I have in my Mini so that's a definite plus.
Ill talk pics soon.

Here it is:

The HU is actually programmable to at least a few hundred different colors, but comes with 9 presets. SO far it sounds great - even with the volume full blast - if you can stand to have your ears bleeding, no sign of distortion at all.
I am not a big fan of some of the controls, but its just taking some time to get used to. The HU has alot of options and settings you can adjust for sound and bass - even on the fly.

I am getting the JL Audio stealth box for it tomorrow. I know its rediculously overpriced, but I dont have the time to make my own and I like the way it looks. THe audio store is getting it for $50 cheaper than everywhere I have looked online for it. So I am happy with my decision. I think the AMP I chose is perfect for the Mini in the respect of sound quality and volume. The bass is really going to fill the sound in and taking some of the bass off the interiors will alow me to turn it up even more!

Had the Sub Installed. I went with the JL Audio Stealthbox. It was a little bigger than I thought but it fits pretty nice. Here is the picture with the Amp installed.
