Kappa Perfect 6.1. Is it worth it???
Hey guys,
I have a R53 and loving it. Got it a few months ago and threw in my ida-x100. My next project is the speakers. Really, the stock one sound ..ok.. to me. However, I am missing bass. I hate loud, boomy bass with a passion. I figured a good set of components and new 6x9 would suit my tastes for bass. I can get a great price on the infinity kappa perfect series, $179 brand new. Does anyone have exposure to these? None of my local shops carry these so I cannot see how they sound.
If I am going to replace my speakers, I want great, great quality and am willing to spend some money on them. Any comments, suggestions, or complaints are more than welcome. THANKS!

The 6x9's are an easy swap, and don't have to be anything high-dollar. I did mine fairly cheap. I changed the fronts to a component set of 6.5". All are powered by a 4 channel amp. I have a small 10" sub to fill in where the others cannot. If you don't like a lot of bass you may want to go with 6x9's that are built for low Hz as opposed to sound quality.
Fair warning, the install of the door speakers is not for the faint of heart or inexperienced installer. You will have to cut your own speaker rings and run wire through nearly non-existant holes. I don't want to dissuade you, I'm just trying to give you a heads up. It's definitely worth it when you're done.
As for the price, I would pay that much for good speakers, but I would have to hear them first. That review I posted judges pretty hard, but after years of loud music I'm sure I can't hear the same things those guys can.
