My iPod (5G) works just fine with the factory iPod adaptor on my 09 MCS. Just got an iPod Touch (2G) however, and it won't work - no iPod icon appears on the audio screen and iPod screen itself flashes bewteen "device detected" and whatever screen the iPod is defaulted on at the time.

Connect everything up and turn on your radio. Try to press the home button on the ipod touch then press the music button. It should take less then 5 seconds for the radio to see the ipod.

This sometimes happens to me when I leave my ipod attached to the y-adapter between engine stop and starts.

Have you updated your iTouch via iTunes lately? The 3.0 update really borked up my wifes iPhone connectivity to the MINI. Hopefully you didn't pay for it on your iTouch and it's something else.
