Kenwood -
Pros:
1. it will work out of the box (unless it is damaged)
2. easy install. no installation of extras such as touch screen software etc.
3. has input for ipod and ipod control from front panel.
4. comes with navigation installed.
5. extra audio source input for other device es such as mp3 player etc.
6. turn it on and it is on you can select from sources with in a second or two.
Cons:
1. not upgradeable
2. can not add extra hard drive for music or video.
Revo-Sys -
Pros:
1. upgradable
2. can add extra hard drive for music or video.
Cons:
1. Operating system - not sure that it actually come with an operating system installed as it states is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Linux, it never states what operating system come with it. from the manual is sounds like you have to install an operating system and then install all the touchscreen software etc. to make it work.
2. It is a computer. they are very finiky when it comes to power loss, they really need very very stable power. any dip in power can cause the operating system to go crazy.
3. Installation of software can be very difficult in the automotive environment.
4. start up time can be very long depending on the operation system and the processor. With the Via C7 1.5 Ghz Processor and the 5400 rpm hard drive you can expect it to take about 1-1/2 minutes minimum to start up before being usable. this may not seem very long but get in your car press start and start a timer then drive away. you have probably made the turn out of your driveway and gotten down the street 14 -15 houses or more before the computer has started. during this time you have no radio, no music, no navigation, etc.
5. if you have lots of time on your hands to play with it great but other wise it is a lot of work to keep it running properly.
6. Bluetooth on the computer will be rather difficult to use and may not work very well at all. And in fact may not support your phone at all.
The above are my opinions are in direct response to your question.
The below are also my opinions and are based on many hours of testing and working with the OEM head unit.
There is not need to change the head unit our of the car. At last check they are made by Alpine and are as good as just about anything else you could put in the car in a reasonable price range. It also allows you to keep car alert sounds with out having to rig something up to get them.
GPS can be added for much less money via a typical GPS from many of the GPS manufacturers.
Bluetooth in the car if you have it works very well and will not be able to be used if you change to either of the above units. Each of those units have Bluetooth available but the Kenwood works pretty well (and maybe better than the MINI OEM) but the computer one will be very very finiky and will be a pain to use.
I could probably go on for pages but will stop here. But I do have one question for you
Why would you want to change out the head unit as it is a perfectly good unit to use as a source for an amp?

hey schatzy62, it´s just i like to watch ipod video or dvd´s in my car.
I got used to in my previous cars ( VW Passat and Audi A4) .
I already have a GPS Garmin 360 which works great , but having it in the 7" screen would be better.
And for the price, it´s cheaper the Kenwood than the carpc . BTW i sent an email to revo system and they replied that they don´t sell the single din carpc x200 anymore and they are focused only in double din units.
So i ruled out this option and will go for Kenwood combo.
Hope to have chosen well.
cya mate.

It is not surprising that they have dumped the single DIN size it was really just to small for any decent processor power with all the other stuff like amplifiers and radio tuners etc they put in the package.
