I have a R56 standard audio system. I am looking for an upgrade. Please let me know what you think.

I have selected these due to at my work I get a huge discount by ordering with Infinity. $371.18 takes it all and I can't pass that up .

I just put a system into my car and I read on these forums about infinity Kappa speakers. Every installer I visited told me the Infinity's are very bright sounding.

Well I went to pick up my car today and got to hear a system in a Range Rover that had Infinity Kappa speakers and wow are they bright.

Today also for fun we put a RTA on the system just to check it out. The Mini has a bright spot in the higher mids low treble 2-4K. The Alpine Imprint fixed this and we tweaked the system further. Kappa's are NOT the speaker for a Mini.

I auditioned, Hertz, Focal, Alpine, Xtant, Rockford, Diamond and the Hertz won me over witha natural smooth sound.

 

I have older model Infinity Kappas in my 2007 MCS with HIFI.
693.7i 6"x9" 3-way car speakers
60.7cs 6-1/2" component speakers
42.7i 4" 2-way car speakers

I suspect you will find the 5.25" speakers are too small for the lower door cutout in the MINI.

I'm about to replace all my Kappas with Image Dynamics speakers because I found the Kappas just too bright for my ears.

 

I get this but I'm not looking for a mind blowing experience but I just can't justify the price of Focals I can get everything I need for the price of half of the fronts. I'm just looking for a better system not concert hall performance.

Yep a 6.5 bolts right in.

Isn't there anything else out there for the same price as the Kappa's that might sound not as bright/shrill?

 

This is the best deal I have found. It's like 60% off retial with any Infinity product.

Just a good set up of crossovers is going to cost me more then the all of it. But if someone else has some suggestions I would love to hear it.
