X9931 Plug?

Did a search but need to be sure I understand this correctly.

I have the stock stereo and am going to take the car in for a new system. I will be doing fronts and a small rear sub with a 4 channel amp. I'd rather not have the shop take the dash apart and I was reading that the signals can be had from the X9931 plug in the passanger footwell.

What confuses me is I am not sure if the stock system uses the X9931 plug since everyone that has talked about useing this plug had the Hi-Fi system.

Thanks in advance!

The real number on the plug is the X9331 and it is used for both the Standard and the HiFi systems.

See this thread for all you need to know about it.

It even has pictures and color codes for the wires.

The only difference between the standard and the HiFi is that the harness on the speaker/amplifier side is different. On the radio side all the wiring is the same.
