iPod interface troubleshooting

So, I'm a dope and left my headlights on the other night. After a jump, the car is fine, but my IPOD interface (the OEM MINI one that connects throught the glove box) won't recognize my IPOD any more, and the stereo says "no magazine". Before I take it to the local audio place that installed it, does anyone have any tips to reset the interface?
Thanks so much!

There is a small fuse on the connector wire from the MINI stereo head unit to the Ipod box that is burried under the dash. I hate to think it, but it is possible that got blown some how. When you plug your Ipod in, does it even get power? If not, I would guess that might be the place to look.

Have you tried cycling through the modes?
The OEM ipod gets its power through the interface, so it should work. Do you know enough to pull the stereo and disconnect/reconnect the wiring harness to the stereo? You might try a 'hard boot' by disconnecting the battery.

I thought the MINI automatically turns off the lights? On mine ('04 w/Xenons) the lights go off, and the car dings if you pull the key out with the lights switched on.

I am having the same problem, except the car had some repairs and they unhooked and rehooked the battery (I presume) and now the iPod powers but isn't recognized. Has anyone had this happen and had found it was the fuse or some other kind of reset? I'm afraid something smaller in the interface got fried...
