Best way to hook up 1 amp and two subs?

I was wondering what the best way to hook up one mono amp to two 4ohm subs. I want the most power getting to both of them. Whats the best way?

Positive output of amp to sub1 negative. Sub 1 positive to sub 2 negative. Sub 2 positive to negative output of amp?

Outputs from amp will be from just the left output? both? Confused! I just want the most power going to the subs, even if that means using just a left signal or just a right.

What make and model amp are you using?

It will make a difference as to how it needs to be hooked up.

Nothing fancy, but it does the job. used it in my other car but with only one sub.

''exile x400.1 mono amp''. 400 watts.

Per the manual this amp will take a 2 ohm load.

http://www.exileaudio.com/2007/manua...fiermanual.pdf

Se pages 3 and 6 for details on your specific amp.

As you have 2 - 4ohm subs you can just hook each one to the speaker block. positive to positive and negative to negative.

This will give you the best performance.

so...just using the positives as an example,

the the left sub positive will go to left output, and the right sub positive to the right output? or should they both come out of the same positive output?

(sorry i have just seen so many wiring methods)

or also is it better to wire these series or parallel?

http://www.caraudiohelp.com/ohms_law/ohms_law.htm i came across this site. my goal is to get loud, punchy base. (maximize power?). Which is better, why would you want a lower, or higher load.

What would you do? (in respect to the link diagram)

run both sub positives to positive output, and both sub negatives do negative output

this is parallel wirring, and 2 4 ohm loads in parallel is a fianl load of 2 ohms
