The Sticky post about the Pioneer AVIC series units is great but they are double DIN in size and will not fit without Major modifications or purchase of items from Japan. See all the threads about double din plastics here in the forum.

To be able to get a double din radio into the 2nd Gen Mini parts of the current radio need to be move to another place in the car. But must not be removed as they contain many of the functions that are displayed on the display screens.
