Confused about upgrading Hi-Fi speakers 2008

I have read thru a lot of the threads regarding this, but before I make any $$ decisions please give me some input.

I have the hifi lateral-grade stereo system.

First upgrade is to swap front speakers out.

I read the speakers are 2 ohm, most that I am finding online are 4ohm, which I also read work fine in the hifi system.

The speakers that I am finding( reasonably priced ) are mostly 2 way. If I swap out the 4" and the 6.5" and both are 2 way will this cause a problem?

For the 6" go for component speakers (separate tweeter). Use the tweeter in the A pillar. For the 4" I used a 2 way, but didn't connect the tweeter. For my ears, they would add too much high end to the system.

I used Infinity Kappas, which are 2 ohm. They are a bit bright in tone.

thanks for the reply Robin,

Looking at the 4" kappas I only see one input. How do you not hook up the tweets? Do you snip the wires coming up from the woofer?

There will be wires and a capacitor on the speaker as well all you have to do is disconnect the capacitor and that will disconnect the tweeter.
