We just purchased a Clubman S with Nav, HD, SAT, and voice recognition.

Tonight I was showing options to my son and tried the voice recognition. Everything was working fine, but the VR went to the wrong menu. I figured it was the way I said it so I tried again. I couldn't get it to change, so I hit the VR button again. Suddenly, there were no sounds. I hit VR again, but nothing.

Any ideas on what happened, and more importantly, how to fix. I really don't want to have to drive back down to the dealership.

 

As with all computers there is a point at which they just lock up. One thing to try is to didconnect the battery for 1/2 hour or so.

If this does not bring it back it probably means a trip to the dealer to have them reprogram.

 

"lock up" - I think that's what happened to us. I went back about an hour later & all seems ok. I guess we'll just keep an eye on it. If it happens again, I guess I get to take the road trip back to the dealer. (Not that I want to go for a problem, but a nice drive sounds good to me!)

I love your "tag line". We traded the Purple Haze convertible in for a Hot Chocolate S. Guess we should update our signature as well.
