Is there a way to get the HK stereo to display CD/MP3 text without buying an add on?

 

No. The head unit is text-capable, but you need an aftermarket add-on like the DICE unit to display anything other than the track number. And even with the aftermarket units, I don't think you can display track information from discs - I think they only display the information on songs played from your iPod.

 

That sucks. Someone needs to reverse engineer the deck to fix that, or get whoever made the deck for Mini to do a firmware upgrade.
