The stereo is frozen up for a long while now. I can't change it for anything. Its stuck on one station and I cannot even turn it off. I just have to lower the volume. I also can't change the mode from radio to CD. The whole thing is pretty much stuck and I'm stuck. I took it to the dealer and they said they had to order a part and while I'm waiting I though I try to fix it myself.
If anyone could help that would be great.

 

This may be a hassle as you will have to reset a bunch of settings, but disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and reconnect the battery and see if it has cleared the problem.

The radio is just like a computer and can lock up and sometimes a hard reset is the only way to get it to work again.

 

What about pulling the radio fuse(s)?

 

Maybe your wife super glued it so you would stop changing channels.

 

It could be one of the other half dozen modules that connected to it that is causing the radio to lock up. If that is the case then just the radio fuses may not do the trick.

 

Then turn up the heat!!!
