New stereo install; need help tracking down a hiss
I have the non hi fi system and just installed the following:
Audio Control LC7
JL Audio 300/4
Pioneer separates in the doors
Infinity 6X9's in the rear
I used the newministuff.com harness and haven't cut ANY WIRES
The Audio control LC7 is grounded and gets power directly from the battery
The JL Audio amp is grounded at the rear seat bracket which has the paint ground away for a good connection.
4GA wire was used for ground and power
Rockford Fosgate twisted signal wire was used and is routed down the center console
Power is routed on the passenger side
When I'm listening to the Ipod (which is connected directly to the LC7), I get perfect sound with no hiss
However, when I even TURN on the radio, there's a LOUD hiss. I have not touched the ground for the factory head unit so I'm not sure what the source of this hiss could be.
Any ideas?
