Nuvi 750: HELP!

Today I purchased a Nuvi 750 @ Best Buy. It was on sale for $399 and I used a BUNCH of Reward Zone coupons + the $50 Best Buy Garmin coupon...final price with tax was just under $200! WooHoo!

Anyhow...I also downloaded the MINI SRF vehicle files for Garmin NUVI (Post # 2 on this thread:

http://www.tarheelminis.org/forum/showthread.php?t=870

My nuvi is in the process of downloading the updates from garmin.com and when it's finished I would like to upload the MINI splash screen and a MINI in my color scheme...unfortunately, I'm not sure how to do it properly.

Step-by-step instructions would greatly be appreciated by myself...and others, too!

Thanks in advance!

Erika

That is great Erika and congrats!!
I will try to explain this as best as I can.

From that posted link you should click on the mini.srf file you want from the MINI download page then click the download button and a box pops up and click Save and look for the Garmin Vehicle folder on your computer (Garmin nuvi still hooked up to it) then the files should appear there when done. The mini.srf files are for the main navigation icon that you can customize.Note:If you already did that disregard the above.

To use the MINI splash screen:Click My Computer, look for the Garmin nuvi there, click it then click the JPEG Folder when that opens you can drag and drop the MINI splash logo there.Disconnect the GPS and then click Tools then Picture Viewer and you can then click the MINI logo then touch the box in the upper left hand corner to display at power up.

I hope that helps.

Thank you for those directions...um...instructions!

I'm guessing that I can upload custom pics for the splash screen in a similar fashion?

You are welcome.

And yes you can drag and drop just follow what I mentioned above to add the MINI splash screen instructions.Go to My Pictures on your computer open the folder and then drag and drop whatever pics you want to your Garmin JPEG folder and then you can pick and choose on your Garmin nuvi Picture Viewer to display it.Currently I have my '08 MCSa as my Splash screen.
