Navigation & Audio Accessing Navigation Module?
Accessing Navigation Module?
Is it possible to access the Nav module WITHOUT removing the seat--specifically the driver's seat in my '05 Convertible?
Any tips in case I would have to remove the seat?

Speaking from experience...
It will take you longer to try to do this, than to drive to Sears buy the right sized Torx bit and pop the seat out.
The seat is held by 4 bolts, they are easy to remove, and if you have seat warmers, there is a cable to unclip. You're done. Otherwise, you get to be a contortionist trying to get things done.
Example. It's easier to take someone's pants off to then remove their undies, than try to remove the undies without first removing the pants.

There is a cover over the Nav unit, and to deal with it you have to remove the seat. It is just 4 bolts as sck_nogas describes (they are Torx T40), and unplugging all the connectors.
While the seat is unplugged, make sure that you don't turn the ignition key to On position, or the airbag light will be triggered. The usual recommendation is have the battery disconnected during your work. So whatever you are installing, it will be tough to test without reconnecting the seat first, and that's just the way it is.

Maybe one more question since you guys sound like you might know a thing or two!
If I was connecting a video interface to the Nav module, how would I get power to the thing? From the Nav module itself or the fuse box somehow?
Thanks alot!
