MINI & Auto Shut Down at the Drive-In
Last night bf and I went to drive-in and since it was a bit chilly we decided to take Kirky instead of the Wrangler.
Everything was perfect until everything shut down about 25 minutes into the movie (fumble - balance sushi on left hand - search for fob with left hand - put fob in - take fob out - turn on sound system). A routine that was repeated many times over during the double feature (Indiana Jones / Iron Man).
I checked the manual but I could not find any way around the automatic turn off. Any suggestions?

maybe keeping the fob in the ignition after turning vehicle off? Try it, not sure if it will work.
I know that if I put the fob in and press the start button WITHOUT stepping on brake, then everything turns on and I can listen to the radio.
I have convenience access so this also works without key in ignition.

I had this EXACT same issue last night as well!! Except I was seeing Iron Man and Made of Honor
. The radio would turn off after about 15 minutes. After reading through the manual extensively and fiddling with the controls, I gave up. After happening twice, I ended up just pushing the start button without turning the car on. I really didn't want to do this because I was afraid of draining the battery. But, fortunately, no battery issues.
On a different note, lowering the rear seats and opening the barn doors on the Clubman makes a great drive-in bed
