Navigation & Audio AMp suggestions/system set up
Speaker Upgrade (fronts only): UPDATE
ok after looking at countless threads/stickies i think ive made up my mind about what to do about my crappy 08 r56 standard stereo (non-HI-FI)... this set up seems to fit my budget/desire. I know theres more expensive/better options, but is this system cohesive?
heres the fronts.
bottom: JL Audio TR650-CXi 6-3/4" 2-Way Speakers
top: JL Audio TR400-CXi 4" 2-Way Speakers
Rears stay the same (run off HU)
Boot: RoadsterSound subwoofer enclosure with
Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 3 Shallow 12" Dual 4-ohm VC Component Sub
AMP: {need suggestions}
thanks guys,
davo

Did you find an AMP?
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm unimpressed with the sound quality of 08 Clubman HiFi, and have been reading the posts. I'm NOT interested in a big pro install upgrade, or the cost that goes with it. I saw the low profile RF Punch Subwoofer in Crutchfield and want to know how to power it of the HU or existing AMP. Let me know how you make out!
UPDATE:
I went with JL TR400-CXis and TR650-CXis in front this weekend. It was my first audio DIY every and i must say it wasnt very hard at all. the difference in sound is WAY better. i also switched out the ipod for a flash drive (30gb, half full) these two combined have made the stock stereo VERY listenable. i really dont feel the need to go any further.

For under $200 you can make the stock crap stereo quite nice.
side note:
Now my door lock ***** (the little thing that pops up when unlocked) doesnt pop up anymore. after taking the door panels off again and having a look, i couldnt figure out what disconnected, it appears to be still in place. any suggestions.
