Navigation & Audio Is NAV a must-have option
This is a question that is really up to you:
-->built in is more money less clutter and less stealable more attractive
-->mountable is cheaper more stealable and less attractive.
Therefore it comes down to the all mighty dollar once again my friends.

I absolute LOVE this Nav system!! It is so much more than my portable! First I hated the cords and such from my portable, and than always having to hide it so some thief wouldn't break in to get it. This Nav/Computer system is awesome, as it shows my backing up distance, radio, phone books, caller ID... and maps and directions of course. Did I already mention that I LOVE this!!??
I believe he is talking about a specific model of a Chinese rice milling machine.

6NF appears to be a form of horizontal decomposition that only applies when needing to handle disjunctive data. http://use.perl.org/comments.pl?sid=30639&cid=46235
In other words, a Chinese rice milling machine...

I have lived with the NAV function for about a month. It turns out that I do not have the ability to create voice tags so I am forced to make a call using bluethooth by saying the number or selecting the contact via the phone, which sort of defeats the purpose of bluetooth as I am probably more likely going to hit something trying to find a contact and then dialing.
I raise this issue as it appears to be related to the NAV in some manor as most folks who I have communicated with that do not have NAV say they can store tags without issue.
One last point, although the NAV and traffic function is great, IMHO opinion, its not worth the $2,000 charge. If you live in safe area and have minimal worries about theft, I would advise buying an aftermarket unit.

I had replied earlier, but the mods did not seem to release it.
The 6NF is the new digital interface to the phones (iphones) for the car. It replaces the 6NE option.

I keep posting, but the mods don't let me through
The 6NF option can be explained here, though the rice machine did make me laugh

Thanks.
That article makes no sense to me though. they say 6nf is the connection, yet they also go on to say that you have to buy a seperate connection to go in the armrest. Considering that you can only have one connection at a time, this is what makes no sense to me.
Is it possibly just an upgrade to the y-adapter?

Yes, that is my understanding, but getting the information out of BMW (especially Ireland) is a nightmare.
I am thinking it could simply be a replacement cable....
I don't have a MINI yet
But I did not want to order without first understanding the iPod interface.

I have NAV and I have no problem just saying, "Call (name)" then the system says "would you like to call (name)?" If it's not correct I say no and repeat the name, if it's correct, I say yes, and it makes the call. I have not stored any voice tags either. It doesn't seem that you need to.
No, I don't think so.

No.
Well, I don't think so.
Crap, now I have to check.
No, wait, I know for sure I didn't create a voice tag for my clear bra installer (his number was stored in my phone, though), but I was able to say "call George" and it called him.

So,
A better suggestion is a Thomas Bro guide for your area, a state road map, a regional road map and a country atlas and save $1990
Even better suggestion is a portable NAV unit that has voice so you dont have to look down at a piece of paper w/ directions. Cause looking at a piece of paper while driving = bad times w/ your insurance adjuster.
I didn't know you could control the audio, make car settings, and work with your Bluetooth address book on a car map. Wow, learn something every day.
lol, and don't forget you can actually keep attention on the road

Up until recently I've had built in OEM navs but have now tried a Garmin 660 instead in a car, and I have to say I really miss the instant availability of the built in. Sure it may have UI shortcomings (depending on the car, I've had a few with different marques that had various strengths) vs the aftermarket stuff but man, I am not loving the "acquiring satellite' waits and other aspects of hand-heldness. And being very warranty aware I am not one to add an aftermarket built in (just not going there again) so in the future its likely OEM as a must have again in my book.
