I was looking at my local newspaper, which covers several relatively low crime neighborhoods here in West County, St. Louis. Out of 14 items in the police briefs section, 4 were for stolen portable GPS units. I hate having my car broken into, and don't want to do anything to encourage it. For me, no more aftermarket stereos, radar detectors, or other portable electronics. I've had them stolen from my trunk, glovebox, and from under a seat.

Aside from that, just the way the Nav looks in the dash makes it worth much of it's price.

So true. GPS is the hottest thing for those that do smash-n-grab. A policewoman told me that the crooks not only are looking for the brackets that holds the GPS in parked cars, they also look for suction cup marks on the windshield, which indicate that the GPS unit is in the car somewhere.

The 6NF is the new digital interface to the phones (iphones) for the car. It replaces the 6NE option.
Looking at the vehicle inquiry for my build, I'm noticing both 6NE (part of ZCV - Convenience Package) as well as the 6NF option. It seems to me 6NF supplements 6NE.

Correct. It is now on the site and needs the 6NE Option.

Now after 2 weeks of ownership of my new MINI, I have to say the Navigator is my favorite option... well, the comfort access is right up there too. Worth every penny for me and I will never own another car without a built in NAV. System.

I was on the fence about getting it and at first decided that I could live without it. But after reading this thread, it pushed me over and I just went down and changed my order to include NAV (production week #40). I know that I would get better true navigation from my Garmin 760, but just don't like carrying a bunch of crap around with me when I park so built in is a big plus. Also like the integration to other car features - iPod, BT, etc...

That's exactly what I did. My car was ordered. I even had demo'd the Nav unit in a car at my dealer and decided I didn't want it. Then after seeing some videos of it online and reading about it here, I changed my order at the last minute and added the Nav. Super glad I got it. I definitely would have been disappointed without it. I don't care for the micky speedo with all those double buttons for the radio controls. The Nav is just much cleaner looking to me.

I got to say everyone says they like the look with the nav but I actually like the flavor flav sized white spedo without the nav. I would have spent the money but like the cleaner look of the dash better.

I know I am in the minority here, but I do not like NAV, I spent years driving around the California (SF, LA, SD). I am rarely ever lost and I just use the iPhone when I need to find something. For me it was not worth it for something I would not use, since I almost always know where I am going. I like the look of it, but could not justify it for 2k for something to show my iPod songs larger than the stock stereo.

Nice shots. Darn it I wish I remembered to add the PDC when I added the Nav!
