iPod Shuffle?

I searched and could not find an answer. I just got my MCS/non NAV.
I have the Bluetooth/iPOD option and read the manual. The adapter cable has a male plug that goes in my shuffle. How do I get the thing to work. The manual states "plug both into iPOD??? I am an old, no tech sense geezer. Can someone save me a trip to the dealer? Thanks.

im not sure for the mini, but most factory ipod soloutions do not support the shuffle because of a lack of dock connector

You can normally plug the Ipod shuffle into the AUX port in the glove box using a cable that plugs into the headset jack on the Ipod.
You can get this cable at any Radio Shack for about $5 or at any MINI dealer for about $45.

What year and type MINI do you have?
For an R52/53 it would be on the left side of the glove box.
But I have seen them in other locations on other MINI's, I guess depending on factory install or not.

08 MCS. I will scan the manual. Thanks.

I love this car! 300 miles in 3 days. I am finding reasons to go the long way home.

Edit: The male/male cable I used in the BMW works. Same thing though...Have to turn on/off.
