There is not an easy fix to mount the widescreen Garmin. You would have to cut the bracket and extend it. Also, if you look at the pics I posted, the top left of the Nuvi 360 screen just clears the steering wheel. The top left of the screen on the larger unit would probably be blocked by the steering wheel.

I opted not to get the MINI OEM mount as from my perspective having it behind the wheel like it is i can not see it.
I currently have a windshield mount but considering the Kuda mount after reading the thread listed above.

Those of you using the suction cup mounting attached to the speedo - Does it leave a nasty-looking ring on the the plastic? Does it stay attached despite the bumps? No danger of wrecking the plastic?
I wonder if it's safe to put the suction cup on the windshield what with that defrost button that I assume heats the glass. It would really suck if you melted the plastic to the windshield.

I just went to my dealer to pick up an OEM garmin mount, plan to do the install this weekend. When on the phone with the parts guy he quoted me 175 I simply asked "Can this be negotiated?" He replied he could give it for 150. Just an FYI.

Is the cord from the Garmin, that allows it to play through the car spekers, one that will fit in the AUX Jack or is it a USB? I don't have a USB.

Could not see it clearly, but it looks like an and AUX plug that will go into the AUX jack and that is what I wanted. I had to order my 760, so I could not look at it first. Nobody in my area carries to high end nav systems. I guess they don't sell very well.

was costom make by me ,,what is fun about the braket it just at the right height so wen you play whit the nuvi the palm of you hand sit on top of the shifter so it give you a good control off the botton...

Yes that is my AUX from the nuvi into the AUX of the mini and the braket
was costom make by me ,,what is fun about the braket it just at the right height so wen you play whit the nuvi the palm of you hand sit on top of the shifter so it give you a good control off the botton...

You'd be far better off with a Kuda mount or the Craven mount. You are not limited to out of date technology and you will spend half of the MINI OEM mount.

The only thing the mount does is tap into the car's power supply so that the unit isn't running on battery power. It works well and looks awesome but unfortunately you can't hear the unit over the audio system.
This plug & play interface attaches at the stereo in the new 2nd gen Mini & clubman. It has a 3.5mm jack plug which will plug into any suitable equiped portable navigation unit & automatically route the directions through your car speakers whenever the nav speaks. Please note - the 2nd gen Mini is not an easy car to remove the radio - we include a colour 3 page guide but allow 3 hours. Success! The OEM Nuvi bracket is installed and working. You don't have to remove the steering wheel housing. I wasted a lot of time trying to remove it and gave up. The instructions are confusing but they are accurate.
After you remove the lower dash panel (requires T-20) and remove the two screws holding the tach (requires T-30), find the connector which is in the exact position shown in the pic from my previous post. It is held up to the underside of the dash on the left side of the steering column with a plastic post that is inserted into a hole. It's a pain to get out but if you get one hand under the dash to the back of the connector and the other next to the steering column to the front of the connector and pull it down really hard it will come free. There is enough cable to pull the connector out from behind the dash next to the steering column.
I removed the post from the connector by pushing on a tab and sliding it off. You unplug the connector socket and pin sides by rotating the handle down. Now look at the socket side. There is a housing that goes over the piece the holds the individual wires. Pry up the tab and you can slide the housing off. Then you find sockets 17 and 18 and if you take a paper clip and push on the exposed metal tab, they will slide out. Remember to mark down which color wire corresponds to the pin #.
Now just insert those contacts into the green socket housing, insert the two pins from the Nuvi harness into the green pin housing, and insert the two sockets from the Nuvi harness into positions 17 and 18 on the connector. I double checked all the connections and then plugged everything back together.
Before doing anything else I attached my Nuvi to the bracket and started the car. The Nuvi powered up. I did notice that when you turn off the car or open a door, the Nuvi stays powered on for a little while, then turns off. Maybe someone who had this installed by the dealer could say if this is normal.
Route the wire to the bracket and attach it to the back of the tach with the provided screws and washers. Remount the tach to the steering column. I tie wrapped the black box and extra Nuvi cable to the cable leading to the 18 pin connector. Don't let anything droop down or it might rattle. Then I shoved everything back in next to the steering column and pushed the post on the connector back up into the hole. All of the Nuvi wiring stays up there with it.
I hope this helps anyone else who tries to install the bracket.

Just the wire harness?
Is there anywhere I could buy just the wiring for this?
I bought the kit from my dealer and attempted installing it today.
Unfortuately, I messed up and ended up breaking 3 of the 4 pins off the nuvi wires. (Not from my MINI's wires, thankfully).
I finally figured out how to get everything together, but it won't work without the pin connectors.
Is there anywhere I could buy pins? Maybe I could strip the wire, and attach new ones?
I tried searching, but I'm not sure how to phrase that. If that's not possible, is there any place that sells just the wire harness to replace the one I just messed up?
