Audio Mixer for Aux Input?

I'd like to use the aux jack for xm, a garmin 2610 gps, and maybe ipod. I've seen this box, xma3, that motorcyclists use: http://www.tesseractcorp.com/ .

For me, the reason to hardwire the garmin is that the speaker is connected to the lighter plug adapter, and I think would get in the way. It would be nice to get the gps voice prompts over the radio, while listening to satellite radio.

Any comments? The box isn't that cheap.

I've seen motorcyclists using something like that. Might not have been that same one. I don't see why it wouldn't work with the Mini's aux input. Obviously you'd be limited to only sources connected to it but if you are ok with that it should work the same as it would for a motorcyclist.

Upon further reading, a downside for the one in the link in a car application might be that it seems to optimize the sound for helmet headphones.

Check Out Radio Design Labs (RDLNET.COM)

One of these two may be the item you're looking for:

ST-MX3 3 Line Input Mixer - Line Out

STD Passive Audio Divider/Combiner - 10 kΩ, 150 Ω, 600 Ω,

You'll probably want this too:

FP-DCC1 12 Vdc to 24 Vdc Converter

They make great stuff in tiny packages. Been using it for years in installs. You could stash this stuff completely out of sight.

It is on my to-do list:
wire my Garmin to mute the radio when giving directions, and play through the speakers. Since the radio already has mute leads, it should not require much.
Anyone done this yet?

Here is a link to a thread I started a few days ago about getting the GPS to talk through the stereo. At least one person has bought the devise and likes it a lot.
