HELP! Bluetooth Kits and interface
To make a long story short Verizon today inadvertently turned off my StarTac phone and they cannot reactivate it as it is incompatible with 911. I understood this and knew if it broke that would be a problem but this was their fault and they are motivated to make it right. I went to the highest levels of Verizon and a StarTac simply cannot be activated any more.
Since my StarTac clips into Artoo (2003 S without Nav) via a Motorola hands free kit Verizon has agreed to give me any phone I want, a Bluetooth kit and free installation. I was going to upgrade this summer but now the decisions are critical.
So, I was looking at the Parrot 3100 Evo kit but am intrigued by the MK6100 and the voice controls. My criteria is that the controls are small and unobtrusive. I have a 2 spoke wheel so there are no phone controls available. I have a 2005 head unit ready to go in at the same time and I am also going to install a DICE iPod kit but not just yet and didn't want to get a Bluetooth kit that would complicate this. I am also not in a hurry so if an interface cable from Mickey makes this easier and cleaner I will get that before the install. I saw the CIG from European Auto Source but frankly the button in the lighter plug is really misplaced as I see it.
So, if you were having Verizon pay for these parts and the install, what would you do? Any help would really be appreciated as would pictures of your control unit installs. At this point I don't have a phone but I can live without it for a while as I simply don't want to make a mistake with this and suffer later.
Thanks in advance for your help. I really didn't want to hurry this but now I have no choice.
