question

I've been researching a way to use my ipod and xm roady in my MC. I thought about a simple y connector for the aux port, but that still requires some manual work every time I want to switch. I found this product at DICE.

It would use a ipod dock connector, and also provide an extra aux port for the roady. Also provides for ipod charging.

Are the head unit inputs in the back of the head unit compatible with this? Any one know?

If you're just bringing in the audio from the iPod, as it looks from the diagram, then it would probably be easier to go into the Aux input on the dash as opposed to the back of the head unit. The diagram shows two RCAs going to the radio. What you'd need would be a single 1/8" TRS stereo connector. If you can't replace that RCA cable then you can get a splitter that goes dual RCA-female to single 1/8" TRS male and connect the unit to your Aux port. It looks like that device is just an A/B switch. Is that right?

I think you are right. I'm pretty sure its just a simple a/b switch that charges your i-pod. I was just wondering if the head units had rca inputs in the back, I'm guessing not. I could use a cable you describe, are they available?

I don't know for sure what is on the back of the head unit. I have not seen it.

Yes, it's a common part. Here's one on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Splitter.../dp/B0009JFF7K

I've looked for it at Radio Shack before, and generally all I could find were solid molded adapters (no cable) and you probably don't want a big hulker like that sticking out of your aux port. It should be easy to find. Best Buy and the like might even carry them.
