Clock setting

Just a thought.
My portable XM radio automatically sets its clock from the XM signal. My cell phone automatically sets its clock from the cellular towers. Why can't my car set its clock from either the Navigation or Sirius function? Every now and again, it drifts. Not too much but it does. You would think it would be easy to have it sync the time since a time signal is embedded in the satellite radio signal and most certainly is in the GPS nav signal.

Just a thought. No complaints. No lawsuits...

I've wondered this, too. Why couldn't they even do it over RDS? It seems like it would be a very simple thing to incorporate.

Probably because some of us set the clock in our cars just a bit fast so we're not late for work.

Isn't a bit too late by the time you get to the car? It's the alarm clock that needs to be set ahead.

Oh and my speedo reads about 3-4 MPH fast. But I guess that is typical.

And another side note:
I changed my car to Km from MPH in the settings on the nav. The speed on the tach showed KPH but when I engaged the cruise control, the cruise control showed MPH. After the cruise entry disappeared, the Tach showed KPH again. Interesting. I guess the feature that shows what you are setting your cruise control to only shows MPH on my mini....
