Bluetooth Ringer Volume

Does anyone know how to change the volume of the ringer that sounds over the stock radio's speakers when an incoming call rings? It's so loud it scares the crap out of me.

The head unit's built-in help says to check the users' manual (which doesn't have anything about Bluetooth in it) or go to www.mini.com/bluetooth, which seems to be international only (and www.miniusa.com/bluetooth doesn't exist).

I was told that is related to the volume of the stereo! How loud do you normally listen to the stereo in your car? I agree it is quite loud but then so is my music.

I haven't tried it yet, but, when it is ringing, adjust the volume with the MFSW controls or the stereo volume **** in the center console. You can also adjust the volume of the call in the same manner. Just keep in mind, that you are adjusting the volume for whatever system is active at that time.

For instance, if you have the NAV system, you adjust the volume of the voice directions it gives while it is speaking so you need to be quick with the adjustments .

Not too loud, normally, but it's possible that my AUX signal is underpowered. Then again, it's pretty loud when the MP3 CD is playing, too - way louder - and that source material is pretty strong.

About the documentation thing - does any official bluetooth documentation exist anywhere - maybe in PDF format? I checked again and there's nothing on Bluetooth in the manuals I got at delivery.

That's exactly right. While it is ringing, simply turn the volume down, either by the MFSW controls or the **** on the stereo. Same thing for the Nav voices. Nice feature.

I've been looking also. If I find it, I'll let you know!

I think if you get the bluetooth phone prep option it comes with a manual. Mine came with a separate manual for the phone system, 20 pages total.

I can try to make it into a PDF if anyone wants it.

That would be excellent. I definitely didn't get that additional manual at delivery. Many thanks!

PM with an email address and I'll send it that way. The zipped pdf file is about 900kb (unzipped it's 1200kb).

This manual goes into detail if you have the OEM Nav system. All the screen shots and setup instructions are designed with that in mind. The manual may not be of any help to those without Nav.
