SIRIUS radio cutting in and out --- anyone else?
I got Sirius radio installed about a month or so ago. However, within 5 minutes off the lot it cuts out. It has returned to the dealer twice now, and it still does it.
He has heard it (the mechanic). So he knows it is there.
Anyone else have this issue? I live in Chicago. However, I don't live among tall buildings. Maybe the tallest is three stories.
Thanks.

Mine works fine however, I had an aftermarket unit installed in my wife's car and the installer had (carelessly) pinched the antenna coax lead while routing it. The problem was the same...signal came and went for no apparent reason.
I installed a new antenna and routed the cable (carefully) myself to fix the problem.

Anytime the signal is blocked, by anything, it will cut out. It's just like a flashlight beam. If you put your hand in the beam of light, it will block it.
Mine and my wife's both do that under the the trees, here in the wet NW. When it works, it's great.

I'm not sure if this is similiar to your experience but I notice it cuts out really easy from just a branch or two. I had a thread about it and everyone seemed to think that is just the way it is. I still think a buffer would be helpful.
