Are there any deals on integrated Sirius unit?

Does anyone know where you can get the Sirius unit for the R56 any cheaper than $599?

The only thing I am aware of is purchasing from Classic using the NAM discount. Anything better?

Check out Morristownmini.com. $479.20. I'm tempted.

My dealer wants $1,070 which includes installation and a year of service. No matter where you get it, the dealer is going to gouge I mean charge you to install the unit and will still end up being close to $1K. I haven't heard of anyone installing there own OEM sirius but its possible I guess. I don't have the skill to do it so I'm at the mercy of the dealer. The only thing I'm thinking is that it may lower the price if both XM and sirius merge and I will have more hardware choices? or does this not make sense. Usually when there is less competition, the price can go up and there is nothing you can do. Kinda like the dealer oem sirius currently for the R56. No other choice if you want integrated sirius in your car.

I paid $330 last week for installation of the Sirius unit. I had earlier purchased hardware from Classic Mini for $479, with the NAM discount.

The purchase price includes the programming for a year, unless they mess up and give you the lifetime service.

The integration with the car makes me glad I bought the built-in unit rather than buying a less expansive stand-alone unit. If you have the navigation system, you'll love it even more.

The only down side is that it takes a long time to install. With the Sirius unit and an Ipod connector being added at the same time, they required a four-hour software download before the hardware installation. Then a separate post-installation download to synch it up with the rest of the car's system and a general car download.

The post-install download didn't take and they had to keep my car a couple of days to get that straightened out. And they did.

Thanks for the information. The price makes it hard to swallow during this time of year, but the radio in Greenville, SC is generally awful!
