What goes wrong with the HK amplifier?

My HK system has some high frequency interferance / crackling on certain songs and I was wondering what goes wrong with the amplifier to make this sound happen? I thought it was the speakers at first and the dealer agreed so they replaced the front tweeters just before my warranty was up. I thought it may have been fixed but after listening its definately still their. Now the car is out of warranty and I am afriad the dealer will not cover under the original warranty claim (2 weeks ago).

Is it a grounding issue causing this interferance? I can't seem to ever hear it on the radio. Only AUX or CD.

Any help appreciated.

k

i'm a honda tech, so i can't help with the actual problem, but i can tell you that if you brought up an issue while under warranty and it was not resolved they should fix it, because their attempt to fix it did not work. this was a warranty issue that was not repaired. don't wait any longer, take it back before too much time passes. if they say they won't fix it, call mini.

As would I -- because then the benevolent audio guys could just fix the problem, rather that attempting to bypass the amp and, if that doesn't work, replacing the amp, which apparently requires the replacement of the entire complement of speakers . . .

Your situation k_h_d, sounds very similar to mine -- I don't think I exhausted my warranty while the dealership was in the process of hurling parts at my HK (it's re-broken now, well out of warranty), but I was damned close and I asked about it. My dealership told me it would be covered until it was fixed.
